FAQ’s
What happens to my waste material after collection?
At Wilton Recycling, all waste is brought to one of our licensed facilities, where it’s sorted by material type. Metals, plastics, paper, wood, and organics are separated, processed, and sent for recycling or recovery. Anything that can’t be recycled is converted into Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) — ensuring nothing goes to landfill.
What items should not go in my household bin?
Items such as batteries, vapes, paint tins, aerosols, chemicals, and electrical goods should never go in your general waste or recycling bin. These can cause fires or contamination. Please bring them to your nearest Wilton Recycling Centre in Naas or your local civic amenity site for safe disposal.
Do you offer skip hire for both homes and businesses?
Yes. Wilton Recycling provides skips for domestic, commercial, and construction waste. We deliver across Cavan, Kildare, Dublin, Meath, Louth, and Longford, with flexible sizes (4/6/8/14/20/35 cubic yard skips) and fast collection. All materials are sorted for maximum recycling and recovery.
How do I start a household bin service with Wilton Recycling?
If you live in County Cavan, you can sign up online for our wheelie bin service. We supply general waste, recycling, glass and food bins, and manage your account easily through our customer portal. We’ll text you before collection day and remind you of the upcoming collection.
What is Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF)?
SRF is a high-grade alternative to coal, made from non-recyclable waste. At Wilton’s SRF Corranure facility, waste is shredded, dried and refined into fuel used by the Irish cement industry. It reduces carbon emissions and keeps valuable materials in circulation — a key part of Ireland’s circular economy and a brilliant alternative fuel.

- 95% waste recovery and full environmental certification (ISO 14001)
- By working with Wilton Recycling, you’re helping reduce Ireland’s reliance on landfill and fossil fuels.
- Switching fleet vehicles to highly fuel efficient models.
- Transitioning diesel-powered machinery to electric.
- Expanding solar power, aiming for 70% usage by 2027.
- Biodiversity zones including; a wildlife pond and 45 acres of forestry planted and continuing commit more land to forestry year on year.
- Continual investment in electric vehicles and processes as part of a long-term shift towards a greener future.
