Do I need to book a slot before visiting?
No, you can usually arrive during opening hours without a booking, but very busy periods may require short waiting times.
Can I recycle paint, chemicals, or hazardous waste?
Hazardous wastes such as paints, oils and chemicals are not accepted at all sites; contact the team first for guidance.
Are vans, trailers, or commercial vehicles allowed at civic amenity sites?
Light vans and small trailers are generally accepted, but large commercial loads may be redirected to our main recycling facility.
Are electrical goods (WEEE) accepted at civic amenity centres?
Yes, most household electrical items can be dropped off for WEEE recycling, including: TVs, fridges, small appliances, cables and IT equipment.
How much does it cost to dispose of a mattress or sofa?
Bulky items like mattresses and sofas carry a small charge per item; pricing depends on size. In general Single Mattress €20, Double Mattress €30, King Mattress €40.
Is there a limit on how much waste I can bring in one visit?
Yes, civic amenity sites are for household quantities only; very large volumes or regular trade loads must use our commercial services.
Where can I recycle batteries, battery banks and e-scooters?
Wilton Civic Amenity & Recycling Centre will happily take your unwanted batteries. Batteries generally contain hazardous components and therefore need to be disposed of correctly.
