How long can I keep the skip?
Standard hire is seven days, but longer skip hire can usually be arranged when booking, depending on availability and local permit requirements.
Can I include paint tins in the skip?
No, paint tins or any liquids can not be included in your skip waste.
What happens to the waste?
Your filled skip is collected and taken to a Wilton Recycling facility where waste is sorted, recycled and processed for 95% recovery, minimising landfill and environmental impact. The majority of skip waste ends up being converted into Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) at our Corranure facility. This SRF is a high-grade fuel made up of non-recyclable commercial and residential waste. The SRF is then used within the cement industry to be burned as an alternative to coal and so reducing the need to burn fossil fuels while using waste to generate energy.
Can I put mattresses or furniture in a skip?
Yes, most bulky items like mattresses, sofas and furniture are allowed, but extra charges may apply; hazardous items must never be placed in skips.
